Steps to repairing drywall using your putty knife
Step 1:
Prep your wall by cleaning it completely so the joint mud compound will stick to the wall. Dust and dirt make it hard for the mud to stick to the wall.
Step 2:
Place mud over the hole about twice the size of the hole you’re fixing.
Step 3:
Slide your knife over the mud area with mild pressure and wipe off the extra mud from the blade into your pan or bucket
Step 4:
Repeat step 3 until your wall is smooth
